These jackets seem to have been in production from the Spring of 1862 to
mid-1864. They are seen in photographs in use through to the end of the
war. These jackets seem to have been produced by the Richmond Clothing
Bureau primarily for the A.N.V.
They typically have a nine button closure with a button affixed through each shoulder strap.** Remember a blank RDII can easily be altered to a RDI, RDIII or Commutation jacket from a blank.
This jacket features our dust woolen jean cloth

- They are lined in cotton osnaburg and have an inside pocket.
Please
be sure that your blank fits you before finishing work is done as we
will not accept returns of blanks once they have had finishing work done
by anyone other than ACW Kits.
A blank includes the assembled pieces and instructions for finishing the garment. You will need to close the lining at the neck with a few whip stitches, work the button holes, sew on the buttons and topstitch the jacket if you choose to.
